Stan Howard is a founding member and Director of Teneo Partners Limited, a firm engaged in the placement of alternative and traditional investment funds to professional investors throughout Asia and Australia. Teneo has offices in Tokyo, Singapore and Melbourne. Stan serves as the CEO and Representative Director for Teneo Partners Japan and has assisted many asset managers in penetrating the institutional and retail market segments there.
Prior to founding Teneo Partners, Stan was President for Japan/Asia of Investor Select Advisors, a hedge funds investment company. He guided the firm’s growth in Japan and Asia for over six years. Before his work with Investor Select Advisors, Stan was active in the Tokyo market representing various hedge fund managers and servicing Japanese institutional clients. He began his career in the investment and securities industry at Smith Barney and went on to work at Morgan Stanley in both New York and Tokyo.
Prior to joining the investment industry, Stan worked for Itochu USA Inc. representing Japanese manufacturers in the U.S. Stan is also a founder and Director of Gordian Capital Limited, a fund management company with its principal operations in Singapore. Gordian Capital operates a fund management platform, assisting fund managers with the set up and ongoing operation their funds.
Stan serves as the Vice Chairman of AIMA Japan, a non-profit organization promoting investor education and best practices within the alternative investment industry. He graduated from the University of Michigan, was a recipient of the Monbusho scholarship program at Hitotsubashi University and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Born in Tokyo, Stan has spent a total of 35 years in Japan. He is fluent in both the language and the culture.
