Navigating the Online Learning Channels
Navigating the Online Learning Channels
Although traditional attendance at residential universities will always be valued by many, studies argue that learning is shifting to growing online opportunities. Concerned with tuition, books, and transportation costs, potential students and their employees seek more viable learning alternatives. With the increased use of mobile devices, cloud storage, broadband access, and learner-based pedagogy, universities now also provide quality learning without the opportunity cost of attending a residential program. Blurring media boundaries, people now learn from YouTube, iTunes, and Hulu videos, participate in the massive online open courses, read online news articles posted to online sites, and enroll in online certificate and academic credit programs.
