Professor Chrystal teaches “Managing Communication and New Media,” “Communication for Accounting and Tax Professionals,” “Advanced Writing for Business,” and “Communication Strategy for Business” in the Marshall School of Business. She is the recipient of several USC teaching awards: Teaching with Technology, Teaching Has No Boundaries award, Good Neighbor Faculty award, and a travel grant from Marshall and USC’s Fund for Innovative Undergraduate Teaching which enabled ten students and Professor Chrystal to travel to Mozambique. She has also received awards from the Marshall School: Evan C. Thompson Teaching and Learning Innovation award and the 2011 Dean’s Award for Community.

Prior to joining USC, Professor Chrystal taught at Clayton State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and the University of Notre Dame. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Counselors of the University Club and several online advisory committees. Professor Chrystal has served as Chair of the University’s Blackboard Committee and as a member of the USC Strategic Sub-committee for Community, Committee for Academic Programs and Teaching, Task Force for Online Assessment, Community Based Learning Collaborative, University Writing Committee, and Marshall’s Transformative Undergraduate Group. She received her Ph.D and M.A. from the University of Notre Dame, and B.S. from the Miami University
