Onma is currently Associate Director, Career Services IBEAR MBA Program. She brings over 20 years of Executive Search, Human Resources, and Career Advising experience to the Marshall MBA IBEAR team. Onma first joined Marshall MBA Career Services in 2010 as the Vertical Lead for Marketing and then transitioned into her role as the Industry Lead for Consumer Package Goods and High Technology companies. In this role, she was responsible for all company outreach facilitating on and off campus recruiting for Marshall.

Prior to joining the Trojan Family, Onma worked as an independent executive recruiter, providing recruiting expertise to leading retained executive search firms in the country in the areas of candidate development, and client/search management. As a generalist, Onma has completed top general management searches for national and multi-national companies. Onma also worked as a consultant with Lee Hecht Harrison, a leading career transition firm, providing one-on-one career counseling and job search skills training to mid-level managers and executives.

Onma began her career with Korn/Ferry International in research, and later was hired on as an Associate and Director of Research at Spencer Stuart. She was subsequently recruited by Heidrick & Struggles. Onma’s extensive retained search experience, eventually led to an offer to join Nestle USA, Inc. as Senior Manager of Strategic Staffing, where she led the professional staffing and college recruitment activities for their corporate headquarters in Glendale, California.

Born in Yangon, Myanmar, Onma came to the United States as an undergraduate student. She graduated with honors from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and received her graduate degree from the London School of Economics. Onma has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia developing a strong appreciation for cultural diversity and international relations. Onma has served on numerous boards, including Past President of National Charity League, Board member of 211 LA County, Boy Scouts of America and several other non-profit organizations serving her community.
