Mr. Bong-rak Sohn is Chairman of the TCC STEEL in Korea. TCC Steel is a leading tinplate manufacturer in Korea.

He graduated from the Kyung Hee University in 1972 and then finished military service in Korea. He had worked for a general trading company for 4 years from 1975 and during the time he had been in London branch of the company for 2 years. After he joined the TCC STEEL in 1979, he also had worked in Tokyo branch of it for 2 years and had studied at the Waseda University’s Business School for 1 year in1981. In 1986, he received MBA from the University of Southern California (USC), U. S. A. and he still maintins good ties with the university. He is a former governor of the USC alumni association and he served as Vice-Chairman of USC'€™s Seoul Alumni Club.

TCC STEEL was founded in 1959 and it has subsidiaries in the steel, electronics and service industries. It has set up a joint venture company, the Ohio Coatings Company, in Ohio with the Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, USA and Mr. Sohn is Chairman of the company. It also has established overseas trading companies, Dongyang America Corp. in Los Angeles and Dongyang Tinplate Japan Corp. in Tokyo. In addition, TCC STEEL has made inroads into Chinese market. In 1992, it has set up a joint venture company with Japanese and Chinese steel companies in Hainan Island and set up transistor plants in Beijing and Shandong Province. Mr. Sohn has been serving some social activities. He is Chairman of UNESCO Seoul Association; Director of the Korea International Trade Association; Chairman of KECC (the Korea E-CEO Club), Honorary Consul of the Republic of Hungary in Korea and he served as Chairman of the Seoul Rotary Club in 1999.
